Family vacations, events usually taken at least once a year don’t seem to end up the way they should.
When I think of vacation I think of relaxing, having fun and sleeping late. Well, that's not the case anymore. Now vacations are times to do and see as much as possible and get as little sleep as possible.
If people take vacations to get away from work, why do they work so hard on their vacations? People start planning trips months in advance, just so they can figure out a way to get everything in. Then comes the long, boring car ride. Why not fly? Traveling long distances in a car with family is like being put in a pit full of lions. Everybody aggravates each other to a point where nothing can be fun. Once the family reaches their destination the parents and children have different thoughts of what is interesting. Again there is conflict. These types of vacation are nothing but frustrating.
Vacations are intended for enjoyment. Typically one should consist of a lot of free time. If it’s going to be a family vacation, a lot of space should be provided between people. Most importantly a family should stay in an area that offers a variety of activities for both parents and children.
I don’t know why vacations are still so frustrating. Maybe if people would take some time to relax, they might actually find enjoyment spending a week or two with their family
